Grids done for you
Align, Grid & Group finds the shapes laid out in a grid, then aligns its columns and rows or distributes them without touching what's inside each row and column. Treat each grid "cell" as a group so overlapping shapes move together, and group the cells afterwards.
Distribute the way you mean
Distribute by spacing without picking a key object, set a fixed distance, align to the artboard or page, and set the horizontal and vertical spacing separately. Order the distribution by height, width or size, reverse it, or spread the shapes evenly along a path, rotated to follow it.
Groups that remember their layers
Group overlapping shapes automatically. Special groups keep each shape's layer, even when copied and pasted between documents, and ungroup back to the original layers.
